Product Description

This product is used for the in vitro quantitative detection of the content of human chorionic gonadotropin β subunit (β-HCG) in human whole blood, serum and plasma samples. Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein secreted by the trophoblast cells of the placenta. It is composed of α and β dimer glycoproteins. Among them, the α- subunit is shared by anterior pituitary hormones; The β- subunit is specific to HCG. The molecular weight of the β subunit is approximately 30,000 Daltons. Due to its unique amino acid sequence, it has biological and immune specificity. Pregnancy can be detected at the time of a woman's first menopause. The concentration can reach 50,000 to 150,000 mIU/mL between the 8th and 12th weeks after conception, and it drops to approximately 20,000 MIU /mL around the 18th week during the duration of pregnancy. The amount of HCG secreted by normally developed villi is large, and the titer keeps rising rapidly every day, increasing by more than 66% every 48 hours. If the increase in β-HCG every two days is greater than 66%, it can be diagnosed as intrauterine pregnancy. However, if the increase is less than 66%, the possibility of poor development in ectopic pregnancy or intrauterine pregnancy is very high. For ectopic pregnancy, due to the thin muscle layer of the fallopian tube and poor blood supply, the secretion of HCG is very low. The daily appreciation is relatively small. It rose by less than 50% in 48 hours. At present, the immunodetection methods using β -HCG-specific antibodies are sensitive and specific to β-HCG detection. Commonly used methods in clinical practice include chemiluminescence method, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, etc. This product quantitatively detects the content of β-HCG in samples by using immunofluorescence quantitative testing technology and immunochromatography technology. It is helpful for the detection of early pregnancy, the monitoring of embryonic development status, and the auxiliary diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, etc. It is suitable for emergency point-in-care testing (POCT) and diagnosis.
