Product Principle of Salmonella stool antigen test
Salmonella Rapid Test is an in vitro qualitative Immunochromatographic assay for the rapid detection of S. Typhi antigens in human stool specimen.
The test are intended to help in the diagnosis of S. Typhi infection and to monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic treatment.

REAGENT PREPARATION AND STORAGE
Store at any temperature between 4-30
ºC.
Do not freeze. The stability of the kit under these storage conditions is 36 months. Use up the reagents as soon as possible after the kit is unpacked.
Specimen collection of Salmonella stool antigen test
Stool samples must be taken as soon as the symptoms appear. The samples can be stored in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 days. For longer storage they must be kept frozen at -20ºC. In this case, the sample should be totally thawed, and brought to room temperature and homogenised before testing.
How to read the result of Salmonella stool antigen test
>1. Negative: Only one pink band appears on test region.
>2. Positive: Two pink bands appear on test region.
>3. Invalid: If without colored band appears on test region, this is an indication of a possible error in performing the test.
The test should be repeated by using a new device.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR Using Salmonella stool antigen test
≡1. The test should be used only for the detection of salmonella antigen in fecal samples.
≡2. The test is qualitative and no quantitative interpretation should be made with respect to the intensity of the positive line, when reporting the result.
≡3. More than 200 samples were evaluated to assure the correct performance of the test.
≡4. No cross-reactions with other viruses or substances were observed during the evaluation of the test. A negative result does not totally exclude a possible salmonella infection. The significance of the results must be evaluated in relation to the patient's clinical symptoms.
