Product Description

This product is used for the in vitro quantitative detection of Ferritin content in human whole blood, serum and plasma samples. Ferritin (Ferr for short) is a soluble tissue protein in the body that stores iron. Normal people's serum contains a small amount of Ferritin, but different detection methods have different normal values. The general serum ferritin level is approximately 100 to 300ng/ml, but it varies with age and gender. Serum ferritin level is a sensitive indicator of iron deficiency anemia and can detect iron deficiency anemia at an early stage. When there is iron deficiency anemia, the ferritin level can be only one-tenth of that in normal conditions. However, when there is an excess of iron, the ferritin level increases significantly. Serum ferritin level is also an evaluation index for the therapeutic effect of iron therapy. Elevated serum ferritin levels can also be observed in acute and chronic liver diseases, diabetes, chronic renal failure, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, etc. At present, the main detection methods for ferritin include chemiluminescence, immunoturbidimetry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, etc. This product quantitatively detects the content of ferritin in samples by using immunofluorescence quantitative testing technology and immunochromatography technology, and is suitable for point-of-care testing (POCT) and diagnosis in emergency departments.
